Eccles Borough Band are proud to present our latest Town Hall outing as “Something Old, Something New”.
In the first half the band pays tribute to the finest musical traditions of the brass band with famous arrangements from Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Procession of the Nobles” to Jimmy Webb’s “MacArthur Park” and well-loved solos such as “I Dream of Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair” and “Blaydon Races” featuring some of the band’s principal players.
Matthew Hall’s “Activate” sets the tone for a second half of new music for brass band. The Six Nations rugby championship comes to a close with a performance of England rugby anthem “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” and Dan Price’s “An American Tale” is a fitting finale to the occasion.
The band are delighted to be joined by Jon Hodkin of InnerTuba. Jon is cycling (yes… with his tuba!) from his home in Morecambe to perform “A Case of You” with the band after his debut appearance with us at the North West Area Championships. Read about his work at www.innertuba.org.uk
Admittance to this concert is free.
